The San Esteban I (30.42MW) and San Esteban II (42.05 MW) wind farms are currently in operation and are owned by ACCIONA and GNFR.  GNFR currently has two new wind farm projects, Tirapu and Barasoain, which will be located in the vicinity of the existing San Esteban I and II wind farms. The energy evacuation of these two new parks is planned through the recently upgraded San Esteban to Muruarte de Reta line which can now accommodate the anticipated >122 MW of generation capacity.

Installation began on May 1 and construction was completed on June 6 and energized June 14, 2019.  Lamifil provided the ACCC conductor, while PLP Belos provided ACCC hardware. TEMA equipment was used during installation. CTC Global’s Master Installer, Ismael Dones was onsite to support the installation crew during the installation which included highway, railway and plantation crossings over hilly terrain.
