Jordan National Electric Power Corporation Completes 132 kV ACCC® Upgrade

Supported by engineering firm Transrail Lighting Limited, India, and Arabian Romanian Electromechanical Contracting Company, Jordan, National Electric Power Corporation completed their first ACCC® Conductor installation in Samra, Jordan. The 2.5 kilometer double circuit project used 553.4 mm^2 Hamburg size ACCC Conductor to replace the existing AAAC Yew size conductor first installed in 2010. The ACCC Conductor used for this project was manufactured by Midal Cables, Bahrain, to increase the capacity of the 132 kV transmission line connecting the Samra and Zarqa substations using the existing steel lattice structures. The terrain was hilly with spans of ~300 meters.

The project was supported by CTC Global’s Regional Service Manager Mr. Sampangi & ACCC Master installer Mr. Vasanthakumar.
